Jump Because!

As it turns out, there are tons of other people who love to jump in photos and some of these people found me via the world wide web and have been featuring some of my jumps on their jumping website, JumpBecause.com.

So far, I am three photos more famous because of them.
Jump for early morning dance parties!
Jump for road trip detours!
Jump like a grape in Napa!

Needless to say, my love for David Lee Roth has always been boundless, and as jumping comes back into style it only seems right to salute him. Go ahead and jump.

"I just blue myself."

Ok, I didn't do this to myself. Meryl did. So, um, Meryl blue me.

Bigfoot: I Not Dead by Graham Roumieu.

Will you be wanting the Badpod, sir?

Went to Batman at midnight last night near Battery Park.
Yes. It was amazing.

Oh Ani D. You fill my soul.

Just got home from seeing Ani Difranco at the United Palace Theatre. Totally amazing. If its been a while since you blasted Ms. Difranco in your headphones, its time to bring her back.

The Walrus.

"In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries the terrifyingly genius pen work of James Braithwaite with masterful digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit, and timeless message."

An equine submission.

Amazing. These two shots were taken by a friend driving into the city from Connecticut. Please do me a favor and find out where these animals were traveling to and from. They are beautiful.

Journey.

This morning has been filled with many googly-worthy gems, making it slightly difficult to pinpoint a theme for today's blog, so instead we will do a ramble. We being me. First off, my darling sprite, Meryl, sent me this epic movie trailer. Initially, I criticized her for trying to poke fun at Brendan Fraser (its too easy), but just wait. Then (!) I remembered a viral video from years ago which I had searched for in vain a few times, and today, yes today, I have finally found it!!! I will sheepishly admit that due to a whole slew of advances in technology (particularly flash animation), the video is not quite as mind-boggling as I remember and is maybe a little slow to start. But still, give it a go.

Next up, this morning presented us with many lolcats and some gorgeous failures from my new favorite waste of time, FAIL blog.

From there, where does the journey take us? Last night's journey took Court and I to a night of chains. No, this isn't some strange s+m thing that you are inevitably trying to make some joke about, we actually decided to appreciate chain stores for one evening, and one evening only. We started our day at Sports Authority in search of a plain Jansport backpack. Discouraged by a sea of patterned h-ster backpacks, we left quickly. Next was TJMaxx. We both expected to come out of this one gloriously, but were shooed by a security upon entering (I wanted to take a pic!) and the visit only went downhill from there. In spite of that, I do recommend taking it to the maxx for cheap colorful luggage. From there we went to Old Navy, West Elm, the Container Store, and finally dined at......the Olive Garden. And yes, we did feel like family.

In the end, we have this:

The mighty mighty bosstones are still as poignant as ever.

Who doesn't love bathroom graffiti? This gem is from Trash Bar in South Williamsburg. Be sure to swing by Trash Bar on July 25th for a midnight performance by Den!

I love airy white cheddar snacks!

Oh my Polish commute.

They like me, they really like me!

Music blog, Tuneage, mysteriously found my muxtape and loves it almost as much as I do. Yay! I've been thinking about making a monthly mix to send to friends, and this is just the musical ego boost I need.

As for the outfit to our left, well, that is what I ended up donning on the 4th. Now my hair is shorter, and I went for the sporty ponytail rather than Russian fur hat, but there it is anyway.

Hard to HANDle.

From time to time my mother sends me charming forwards that typically include crass political humor and/or quips on the neverending battle between men and women. The latest forward is actually part deux of my all-time favorite mom forward, "Hand Art."

"New Hand Art" seems to be a distinct move towards much more simplistic humanistic subject matter - I particularly like the athletic theme. If you'd like to see the new series in its entirety, leave me a comment and I will forward.
