Hunktastic meets the Mad Hatter. A poem.

Hunks in wonderland
Won't you take me by the hand?
Down through the rabbit hole
Where we might see a tiny troll
And then into a land of fleas
Come and feed me strawberries!
Who on earth is Pat the Pig?
His existence is such a fig
I meant a fib, but it had to rhyme
And no, its not tool time!
Scott Baio, well he's in charge
And Uncle Jesse's livin' large
Now I must crawl back
Into the lair with Fleetwood Mac
Goodnight my hunks, goodnight.

A double-barrel emotional gun.

Two rain barrels + Whitney getting "so emotional" = exactly what the dudes at my table are looking for, a double-barrel emotional gun.

The more you know.

Thank you Meryl, for your kind words and shapes.

Inebriation + unsupportive shoes = my bum ankle.

The day began with much love. And it ended with even more. Twas the roomies birthday. This picture is stage 1. Jumping (obvs) for joy in the morning. Jumping had absolutely nothing to do with the sprain.

Because I don't tend to share actual details of the goings-on in my life, I will skip a few hours and a day and take you to today.

Five xrays, an aircast, and a pair of crutches later. I'm almost back to normal. I did discover that I might have a knack for fashioning hospital gowns into evening wear. Smashing!

Bberry cleanup.

Since I am bored, limping, and waiting to see xrays of my re-sprained ankle, now seems like as good a time as any to blog a rando pic from my bberry. This shot is a dress we spotted on a tree which clearly I had to try on over my clothes. And, clearly, I had to buy it.

Yes, I did just send this to my entire company.

Prolonged Giggling.

Boy Bands are Back.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen...

Lend me your ears! (and by ears I mean lend me some amazing parts of your day and/or the inner workings of your brain to image search.)

As it turns out, more of you read this than I thought, so I welcome suggestions for image searches. Gmail, gchat, or just leave a comment.

After all...

You're the inspiration.

Marco? BOLO!

My brother & I watched "She's All That" last night.

No, I did not watch it in French, but wouldn't that have been amazing? In any case, I really don't think I gave this movie enough credit in its hey day. Not only does it star Usher as the high school radio personality and Lil Kim as a somewhat non-descript popular girl, but it features this tremendous dance sequence. Totally reminds me of my prom!

(TURN ON YOUR SOUND)

No words can describe this.
I first heard the music on a lonely Sunday night a few weeks ago.
Imagine my surprise at finding the source right below me on a Saturday afternoon!

Four topics in four minutes: The Maureen Edition.

Comedy.
Google believes this crowned gorilla clown represents comedy.

Brown toast for starters, white for the treat. Brown's the savory and white's the sweet. But I get the last laugh, because I actually love brown toast.

Chickens.
The so called "urban hen movement" harks back to the days when Chicken keeping was much more common. Chickens can make good companion animals and can be tamed by hand feeding. They are generally low-maintenance.

Wake me up before you go-go.
Where to begin with this amazing track? Not only is Wham! an essential icon of the 80s, but George Michael himself is gracing our concrete jungle with his presence in July!

You put the boom-boom into my heart!

Total Eclipse of the Heart.
Originally performed in the year of my birth, this song captures the sheer desperation of love. Not only was this written by someone who also wrote a song or two for Meatloaf, but it features Larry Fast on synth!

We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks!

The theme is my sister. Thank you M.

And now, a bit of culture.

Even the Ghost of the Past.

Marcel Dzama, one of my favorite artists, has an exhibition up at David Zwirner through April 19th. April 12th and 19th will feature live piano accompaniment! I am definitely checking this out.

And now, Earthly Immortals.
This exhibition of Arhats in Tibetan Painting just opened at the Rubin Museum of Art and promises to inspire. If you want an exclusive tour by the curator herself, let me know and I'll hook it up. It will be open through August 18th.

Note: On Fridays at the Rubin you can enjoy a happy hour at the K2 lounge and check out many of the galleries for free! I recommend the Dragon Eyes Mojito.

"Totally fun!"

My friend Lucas (of Boxing Metropolis fame) googled "totally fun" today.
Here are two of the results.

Goodbye Robot + Boy.

This amazing image from Corbis has served my screen well for many moons. It was one of the more riveting results from a search on "the future."

Time for a change.

The Muppets meet Rick Astley.

Genius.
The fact that this video exists reaffirms my entire existence.

Classified as both pop and blue-eyed soul, I think we could all use a little Rick rolling. I'm never gonna give you up. Thank you Claire.
